YouTube Videos FAQs

  • Q1: Why was I asked to log in YouTube account?

Any Video Converter features downloading videos from YouTube. But this is subject to the Terms of Use of YouTube.

YouTube requires log-in to verify your age to see if you are permitted to access adult contents or contents that may cause uneasy feelings. You shall create YouTube account to download such kind of videos.

  • Q2: There are different URLs in YouTube, which should I use?

Currently, one YouTube video will have different URLs. They are similar to links below:

Shorter link: http://youtu.be/3uvewTiTjU8
Long Link : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3uvewTiTjU8

HD Link (adding &hd at the end): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3uvewTiTjU8&hd=1 or
http://youtu.be/3uvewTiTjU8&hd=1

Our products support downloading with all links above. You are free to download with either YouTube URL link.

You can even preview the downloaded YouTube videos while the download is going on.

But if you are using the new Any Video Converter 5, you need to download YouTube videos one by one.

  • Q5: How Can I find my downloaded video?

Once download process completed, please right click on YouTube video on the main panel and select Open Source File Location, then there will prompt a window to show you the downloaded file location.

  • Q6: Any Video (DVD) Converter fails to convert a YouTube video. It says “insert failed”. Any idea?

If you receive this error message "Cannot get media information from video file…pv.mp4, insert failed" while trying to add a YouTube video into the converter, it’s probably that the video file name contains non-English character. Please modify the file name and try again.

To avoid downloading YouTube videos which have non-English file name not being recognized by the converter, please go to Edit > Options > Online Video, and then uncheck “Use HTML Title as output file name” option before downloading.

  • Q7: Why can't I convert the downloaded video?

You need to add downloaded video file to the program for converting. For example, if you click on "Output folder" on the lower left of the panel, you can find downloaded video in "C:\Users\David(your computer user name)\Documents\Any Video Converter\YouTube" . To add the downloaded video, you just need to click on "Add Video Files" on the upper left of the panel and browse to the file in the exact download folder mentioned above. And then choose a needed output profile to convert.

  • Q8: YouTube videos has been available in a range of quality levels? Can I choose video quality?

Yes, please click to "Edit > Options > Online Video". There are different file format like Standard, Medium, High Quality, 720p, 1080p and Mobile Version for choosing. If you are using the new Any Video Converter 5, there are Manually, Best Quality and Smallest File Size for choosing.

You can choose file format according to the available YouTube video quality. For more information of the codecs and quality of YouTube Videos, please visit HERE.

  • Q9: How to download the videos without converting?

After pasting the video URL links, right-click on the center panel and choose Download All Online FLV Files or Download Selected Online FLV. Clicking CONVERT button will lead to both downloading and converting.

  • Q10: I get "Winsock failed" error while trying to download YouTube video. How do I fix that?

Please make sure the URL you pasted is a right YouTube URL and please make sure you have connected to internet and YouTube is not blocked in your country.

Please also make sure you have allowed this action in your firewall or anti-virus program because sometimes firewall or anti-virus program may interfere with downloading and converting YouTube. If you don't know how to configure the settings, you can temporarily disable it.

If problem persists or you have YouTube download failed problem, please send us the URL links of YouTube videos which you can't download for testing.
